Sunday Summary - 31 May 2010
Vets win to go second
Southern Veterans League
With our best result in a long time of seven firsts, three seconds, the veterans team moved up to second place in the overall league table.
Helen Garrett earnt us three firsts and still seemed to have a bundle of energy at the end. Simone - who also competes for the Southern League filled in events where needed along side Joanne Murphy, other track stars included Abi, Clare, Roz and Caroline Hall who won the 100m comfortably easing up before the line with a slight pull to the glute! (however you spell!!) Lynne Smith did the non scoring discus and went on to beat the scorers! (haven't got result yet) Lynne has really come on this year with her throws.

Joe Durrant competed in his first 800 of the season on Saturday in the manchester BMC meeting. running in the B race, he came 4th with a solid run of 1m 50.52. only 8/10 of a second outside his best, hopefully there will be more to come in future weeks.
This race follwed Wednesday nights BMC at Sutcliffe Park, where Joe was disappointed with his 400m of 50.2, however Caroline Ford had every right to be pleased, with a personal best of 2:19.4
